Technical Writer (Solon, Ohio)
PPI Technical Communications is currently seeking an experienced, hands-on, technical professional to create service documentation for industrial machinery applications.
This position is a unique opportunity for an individual who has 2-3 years of experience in any of the following or related positions:
- Field Service Engineer or Technician
- Technical Support Representative
- Engineering Technician
- Maintenance and Repair Personnel
- Industrial Equipment Assembler or Operator
The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The skill sets we are looking for include:
- Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and schematics
- Ability to professionally interface with a diverse group of customer contacts
- Experience working in an industrial environment
- Ability to quickly comprehend cutting edge electro-mechanical assemblies
Competence in the following software packages is required: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Internet Explorer. Additionally, experience with the following software would be a plus: Quicksilver, RoboHelp, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe FrameMaker.

Parts Coordinator (Solon, Ohio)
PPI provides Common Coding services to our clients.
Primarily, what this means is that we receive spare parts lists from our customers and we assign common codes to these parts.
This position includes the following responsibilities:
- Verification of vendor information (company name, OEM part number, contact information, etc.)
- Maintain a record of all vendor communications
- Maintain and update Spare Part Information in a Spare Parts Web site
- Match new parts to common codes and assign to customers database
- Add the common code to a database by assigning a name, attributes, common code and
Plant code
- Set up ordering and inventory information in Customer's Purchasing System
- Update and organize vendor catalog information in a Web site Library and Hardcopy Library
- Participate in and conduct meetings to share, develop, and acquire information, and continually develop the business persona in the department
- Perform other duties effectively as assigned or appropriate to improve productivity company profit and/or customer service
You must be experienced in inventory control, parts and components, and data entry.
Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook are required.

Technical Editor, Assistant Technical Writer and Graphics Associate
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and must be able to:
- Work successfully in a team environment with production associates, writing staff, and other colleagues.
- Proofread, write, and organize technical content.
- Determine the level of quality assurance required based on the project scope.
- Display an in-depth knowledge of a range of publishing software and the ability to learn software as required.
- Understand the basic principles of documentation layout and design.
- Think logically.
- Estimate the amount of time required to complete a project.
- Coordinate scheduling and facilitation of department projects. Prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Monitor and track project progress with regard to project scope and estimated time allowed.
- Communicate job status and details with clients and colleagues. Must be able to communicate professionally during interactions with clients and employees.
- Give feedback and/or training to staff regarding quality assurance results.
- Develop or supplement existing project conventions, standards, and processes.
- Successfully complete multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in related field.
2 years experience in technical writing or editing.
Software experience: Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe FrameMaker.
Experience with international and/or translation projects is a benefit.
